In 2001, the
London Housing Foundation, under the leadership of then executive director Kevin Ireland, devised an outcomes programme in consultation and partnership with a number of individuals and organisations. The resulting wealth of learning that was gathered and the materials, such as
The Outcomes Star, that have subsequently been developed under the programme have resulted in this website.
In June 2008, the outcomes programme was "highly commended" by the Charity Awards.
On October 1st 2008, the London Housing Foundation transferred the outcomes programme to
Homeless Link. Chief Executve Jenny Edwards said, "Homeless Link is pleased to be taking over this programme. Work to develop an outcomes approach in the sector will inspire and support the improvement of services to prevent homelessness and change lives."
Sara Burns, Kate Graham and Joy MacKeith of
Triangle Consulting have brought their expertise in outcomes management to the delivery of much of the outcomes programme and continue to take a leading role in shaping our continued work in this area.
It is fair to say that without the input, interest and willingness to experiment that agencies have demonstrated, the outcomes programme would not have been successful and this website would not have come into being.
