Outcomes Star training
How to use the Outcomes Star effectively to promote and record change in your clients
More and more agencies throughout the UK and overseas are introducing the Outcomes Star to their organisations. The London Housing Foundation has received many requests to provide training in using the Star and offered the first opportunity in November 2007, followed by the second on 4th March 2008.
This course was for managers, team leaders and anyone who would be implementing the introduction of the star to their organisation and supporting key workers in using the Star with clients.
The aim of the course was to enable participants to lead their teams in using the Outcomes Star effectively as a key working tool to both promote and record change in their clients.
The day was intensive, practical and experiential. By the end of the which it was clear:
- How to implement the Star in the participant's organisation
- How to use the Star effectively as a key working tool to support and record change
- How to ensure participant's staff use the Star reliably and consistently.
The training day finished with a practical planning session to ensure that particpants left with their questions answered and a clear plan for what to do next.
Your own copy of the entire Outcomes Star Collection The training course included provision of a colour, printed copy the full, four volume Outcomes Star Collection, including practical guides for key workers and managers.
The trainersThe trainers were the people who developed the original Star - Joy McKeith and Kate Graham for the November 2007 event and Sara Burns for the 4th March 2008 event, all experienced trainers, each having a wealth of experience in the voluntary sector as a whole, and with agencies using the Star. For more information about Sara, Joy and Kate see www.triangleconsulting.co.uk.
Who was the training for? Training was offered to staff from homelessness agencies. Other interested individuals and agencies can register their interest in alternative training events, which will be organised if there is sufficient demand.
On-site training and groups of five or moreWhere a group of five or more people from the same agency is interested in Outcomes Star training, special rates and an alternative venue may be available by arrangement. A number of successful on-site training sessions have been delivered already.
